Anthropic announced a $65 billion Series H at a post-money valuation of roughly $965 billion, according to the research audit underpinning this report, briefly making it the most valuable private startup in the world — ahead of OpenAI.

The near-trillion-dollar price was underwritten by one of the steepest revenue curves in software history. Anthropic's annualized run-rate scaled from about $9 billion at the end of 2025 to more than $47 billion by May 2026. Claude Code, its autonomous coding agent, alone reached a $2.5 billion run-rate.

The raise followed a $30 billion Series G in February, an almost unprecedented cadence of mega-financings within a single year. Amazon and Google continued to supply the compute commitments that made the scale possible, each unwilling to let OpenAI run unopposed.

The milestone captured the defining dynamic of the super-cycle: two labs, capitalized like nations, trading the title of most valuable private company as the market bet that one of them would define the AGI era.
